Conclusion:
Immigrants in the 19thcentury were fortunate to be given the opportunity to just enter the United States, at a time when they were able to just be processed in a day, at most, and allowed to begin their new lives within the US. That doesn’t mean that their struggle to get to America wasn’t as difficult as it is now they just faced different troubles and obstacles to face during that time. The new immigrant wave, while they are able to enter the United States legally, it means being able to invest money and time to be able to reside here legally. One dramatic difference that these two immigration waves have is illegal immigration. What can be admired is the will power and the strength of all immigrants that are brave enough to up root their lives to start a better life in a new land. That no matter what time period we look at immigration we must remember that even if there are differences among these groups, the struggle that they face in coming to America is still present.
